The utensils and appliances with which you cook are susceptible to staining or getting very dirty at any time. Still, the good condition of the appliances is essential for successful cooking. In this sense, microwaves are very present in the vast majority of homes. The enormous number of functions it performs makes it one of the most widely used household appliances in kitchens, both individually and in bars and restaurants. Due to this continuous use, dirt and stain residues can accumulate inside that need to be removed. An easy way to clean a microwave quickly is with vinegar. It is a home remedy with which you will be able to remove dirt and disinfect the interior of the appliance quickly. Follow these steps to clean the microwave inside with vinegar:

  1. Pour 125 milliliters of water and another 100 ml of vinegar into the same microwave-safe container.
  2. Add a little salt (a tablespoon will suffice).
  3. Cover the container with plastic wrap on top.
  4. Take a toothpick or some cutlery and make several holes in the film (which are not very large).
  5. Microwave the container at full power for 5 minutes.

After this time, leave the door closed for 10 more minutes. The steam generated inside will have moistened the walls and will soften the accumulated remains of dirt.

Open the microwave door, remove the container from the inside for easy cleaning, and wipe with a cloth or absorbent kitchen paper on the entire interior surface. You will not need to rub, as the stains will easily go away.

Take a piece of kitchen paper and just dry the inside of the microwave to make it totally clean. Remember that after applying the vinegar and getting the steam, you will have to remove and clean the plate and wheels separately to facilitate cleaning and that of the interior of the appliance itself.

Another option is to put the mixture in a spray bottle and use it to spray the interior of the appliance, leave it to act for several minutes, and then clean with a sponge or cloth.

Clean the Microwave Inside with Baking SodaHow to clean the microwave oven

Baking soda is one of the products that you should always consider in matters related to household cleaning. For example, it is used to clean the outside and inside of the microwave and other appliances. Follow these steps to clean the microwave oven with baking soda inside and remove stains and germs:

  1. Dampen a sponge and sprinkle the baking soda on top.
  2. Remove the plate and wheels to clean the interior of this appliance better.
  3. Gently sponge the inside surface of the microwave.
  4. Rinse the entire surface with another sponge that only has water or with a cloth just moistened with water.
  5. Using the same technique, clean the plate and wheels now, rinse them with water, dry them with a cloth, and put back in the microwave.

Another possibility is that in a bowl, you prepare a paste with bicarbonate and little water. It should look like a paste and not the diluted baking soda, so it is better to add water little by a little while mixing. Then take a little of this with a sponge, a cloth and rub it inside the appliance and rinse as we have explained. The difference is that making the paste first facilitates its application and effect, making it a better option, especially if there are difficult stains.

Clean the Inside of a Stainless Steel Microwave

Cleaning a very dirty microwave may seem more complicated than it really is if you don’t know the proper tricks. If you were wondering how to clean the inside of a stainless steel microwave as well as the outside, take note:

  1. Wipe off the bulk of the dirt residues inside with absorbent paper.
  2. Squeeze half a lemon into a cup with water and place it in the microwave. We have chosen the lemon option, but vinegar is another of the best options.
  3. Put it to work for three minutes at maximum power.
  4. Remove the cup or bowl that you used to put the lemon, as well as the microwave dish and its wheels.
  5. Take a sponge and clean the inside walls.
  6. Now pass a soft microfiber cloth to dry the surface and finish off any residue.

Regarding the exterior of the appliance, moisten a soft microfiber cloth with water and a few drops of ammonia. Then rub it all over the outer surface. Add a very small amount of oil, preferably olive oil or a rather dense one, to a new cloth and rub it on the outside so that the microwave steel shines again. Wait for the oil to work for a few minutes, and finally, microwave dry with kitchen paper.

Clean a Burned Inside MicrowaveHow to clean the microwave oven

Sometimes food burns occur inside the microwave, giving off an unpleasant odor and causing yellowish or dark spots to appear on the surface. To learn how to remove the yellow color from a microwave and the blackest parts, follow these steps:

  1. Dip a piece of absorbent kitchen paper in hot water and add 3 drops of detergent or dish soap.
  2. With this paper, clean the interior walls of the appliance.
  3. With another paper wet only with water, remove all traces of soap and burned residue.
  4. Use a new piece of paper to dry the inside surface of the microwave. You can use cloths or sponges, but you will have to clean them very well to avoid the accumulation of burned residues and their smell.

You can also use acetone if the stains are very large or difficult to remove with the previous method. Still, before drying the interior walls, you should clean the surface with a paper and a few drops of detergent to completely remove any traces that may remain from the use of acetone.
