When you’re done with your juicing, the last thing you want to do is clean the juicer. The faster a juice extractor or a juicer can be cleaned up after use, the better. If you have a centrifugal juicer, it will be hard for you not to make a huge mess while extracting juice from fruits and vegetables. If you have a masticating juicer, everything will be a lot easier. Masticating juicers are designed to not produce as much pulp and foam during juice extraction.
1. If your juicer has a pulp cup, you’ll want to empty it first. If it doesn’t have a pulp cup, just skip this step.
2. Fill the juice bowl with warm water and then add about 1/4 cup of lemon juice or white vinegar into the bowl as well. This will help loosen the pulp in the juice bowl and help you get it out with ease. You can read also: Make Margarita and More with the Margaritaville DM1000
3. Place 2-3 drops of dish soap into the water and let it soak for about 30 minutes to an hour. This will loosen up all that pulp that has started to harden on your juicer’s parts.
4. Run your soaked juicer, one more time, with little to no pulp in it. This will help you rinse out all the lemon juice or white vinegar that is left inside your juicer.
5. When you’re done running your juicer for the second time, use a small brush and scrub down all parts that have come into contact with your fruits and vegetables. You can also use the included cleaning brush that comes with many juicers.
6. Finally, fill your juice bowl up with clean water and turn on your juicer for one last time to get rid of any leftover food particles in it. Don’t forget to empty out the pulp cup or anything else that comes along with your juicer if needed..
7. You can also use a specialized cleaning product for your juicer if you wish, but the dish soap and water method will work just fine.
8. If there are any stains left on your juicer after using this method to clean it, try using lemon to wipe them out. This has worked for many people who have tried this method.
