Cast iron teapot was originally used in Japan as a kettle, which was generally made on an open fire. They then hung their kettle over the fireplace to provide enough heat and humidity during cold weather.

During the introduction of green tea in the mid-19th century, a cast-iron kettle was regularly used, making this beautiful kettle the preferred kettle during that time.

Cast iron teapots have long been considered the timeless shape of teapots, which bring warmth and a sense of well-being to all families and bring undeniable elegance to the kitchen.

Cast iron teapot is the oldest type of teapot known. What makes it popular is that it is non-toxic. It also has an excellent ability to retain heat.

However, a common problem among teapot users is the challenge of cleaning it. Because it is iron, it is prone to rust. Cleaning the kettle is not that difficult if you know what you are doing.

But first of all, it is important to know that your kettle should only be used for your tea and only for your tea, and equally important, with the same type of tea instead of using it for different kinds of tea or, worse still, using it for others.

The cast-iron kettle can absorb the curing, “taking the flavor” of your particular type of tea. Using the same kettle to different kinds of tea changes the flavor or curing of your kettle.

Use dish soap to clean the inside of your cast iron kettle, but don’t use strong detergent. Another great tip is to add a little olive oil and salt.

Removing the rust inside the kettle is done with a cotton cloth, soak it and add a small portion of coarse salt and a small amount of olive oil to the bottom of the kettle. Rub rusty areas with a damp cloth and air dry.

Knowing how to care for your cast iron kettle will ensure long-lasting service and more delicious tea for you and your family.

A cast-iron kettle is something that could add variety to your tea drinking habits. Furthermore, its design could give an authentic Japanese feel, especially if you prepare an Asian tea known as wu long.

To ensure that your cast iron kettle and other tea utensils, such as cups and tea infusers, last for several years, you must take good care of them by cleaning them regularly. When not in use, they should be kept in a safe place, perhaps in kitchen chests and tea ball infusers or filters and bread baskets.

Cast iron teapots must be cured regularly. This can be done by heating the oven to at least 150 degrees and using canola oil to rub the entire pot’s surface lightly. Then put the kettle in the oven for about an hour and then let it cool.

Another way to clean an iron kettle is by using a paste made from water and ascorbic acid. Rub over the entire surface. For rusty areas, you will need more paste to remove the rust. You can also leave the paste on the stubborn rusty parts overnight. It should be easier to remove the next day. After cleaning, it is best to re-cure the kettle.

A cast-iron kettle brings your hobby to life by drinking tea. Anyone who considers drinking tea as a pleasant way to spend an afternoon or at any time of the day should consider buying a cast-iron kettle.
